Attendant Care

We pay for attendant care to help you or a person you care for live at home where possible.

Attendant care services help you do everyday tasks. These can include:

Request attendant care

If you think you or a person you care for needs attendant care, talk to your LTCS coordinator or case manager. They will organise a review of your care needs which will be carried out by a health professional (like an occupational therapist).

They will talk with you about your needs and the supports available to help you. They will also talk with you about how much attendant care you would like to receive and request this for you.

We will then assess that request.

Once attendant care has been approved and you have selected an approved attendant care provider, the coordinator from the attendant care provider will organise a home visit to do a safety audit and develop a care plan with you and your family.

We can find a local approved attendant care provider for you, or you can use our attendant care finder to help you find one. These attendant care providers have been approved by us because of the quality of their service.
