- 11,051 school students taught by 833 teachers
- 16,200+ Walk-in Centre attendances
- 146 playgrounds maintained

Health & Community Safety
This Budget invests in expanding health services and emergency service facilities.
- $100.5 million to upgrade and maintain facilities at Calvary Hospital, the Canberra Hospital and other health buildings
- An additional specialist physician in the Emergency Department at Calvary Hospital
- Funding to progress the University of Canberra Public Hospital which is due to open in 2018
- The Aranda Ambulance and Fire & Rescue station will benefit from extra funding for the ACT Ambulance Service
- Expanding the existing SouthCare hangar for a new, larger rescue helicopter
- New police protective equipment and more security at police stations
Tax Reform
This Budget funds tax reforms including:
- Tax cuts for small and medium businesses—the payroll tax threshold is being raised to $2 million
- Stamp Duty continues to be cut—$7,040 less for a $500,000 home in Belconnen
- Taxes on insurance abolished in this Budget
Schools, Parks & Shops
Funding is provided for upgrades to schools, playgrounds and shopping centres in Belconnen.
- Expansion of preschool facilities in Weetangera and Hawker
- Contemporary teaching spaces at Maribyrnong Primary School
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) scholarships for teachers across Canberra
- $1.7 million in upgrades to CIT Bruce
- Belconnen will share in additional funding for dedicated playground upgrades across the ACT including Boswell St playground in Florey and Jacobs St Playground in Evatt
- Upgrades to the Charnwood and Spence shops
More Roads & Transport for Belconnen
Funding for roads and transport infrastructure includes:
- Duplicating Aikman Drive ahead of the opening of the University of Canberra Public Hospital
- $10.9 million for new buses and to trial electric buses
Investing in Health, Education & Safer Families
The ACT invests more per person in health and education than any other jurisdiction.
Health
- $139 million for 170 new health staff including 22 doctors, 91 more nurses and 34 more allied health professionals
- $29 million to expand the Canberra Hospital Emergency Department
- $9.96 million for an expanded trauma service and intensive care
- $55.9 million for mental health
- $6.32 million for outpatient and palliative care
Education
- $31.2 million for school upgrades
- $10 million to take our school system digital
Safer families
- Additional funding for the Domestic Violence Crisis Service & Canberra Rape Crisis Centre
- More resources for police, courts & legal aid
Concessions
- $35.1 million in additional concessions for low income households
