Capital Works Program

Overview

The 2022-23 Budget includes $237 million for the delivery of new infrastructure projects, increasing the total value of the Infrastructure Investment Program to more than $7 billion over five years to 2026-27. This includes $5.376 billion for the Government's Capital Works Program and $1.648 billion of activities self-funded by Public Trading Enterprises (PTEs).

As our city grows, we continue to support the delivery of new and improved facilities, with our key priorities being the public healthcare and education systems, our growing transport network, sustainable public housing renewal, management of our environment and supporting local arts and entertainment.

Many of the investment projects deliver benefits across multiple dimensions of the Wellbeing Framework, maximising value for our community. For this reason, the wellbeing classification below is based on the wellbeing domain that is likely to benefit the community the most from the initiative investment, recognising that the overall benefit from that initiative is much broader.
