The ACT Government understands that secure, suitable and affordable housing is the foundation Canberrans need to build a good life. That is why we deliver housing services across a spectrum of needs, from public and community housing to homelessness and crisis services. At the same time we are also helping more Canberrans own their own home.
We maintain 11,935 public housing properties, providing homes to thousands of Canberra families.
We will deliver $23.4 million in funding to Specialist Homelessness Services and Community Housing Providers this year.
$760 million for housing & services over the next 4 years

Renewing Canberra’s public housing
The ACT Government is delivering new homes for Canberrans now and into the future by renewing 1,288 properties across our public housing portfolio.
We have helped 779 people move into their new homes across Canberra. We work closely with community organisations to support people before, during and after their move.
