The ACT Government is committed to robust risk management practices, recognising that risk management is an integral part of good management.
The ACT Insurance Authority has been tasked under the
Insurance Act 2005 with promoting good risk management practices and
giving advice to the Minister about the management of Territory risks.
ACTIA promotes the adoption of good risk management practices throughout all ACT
Government Directorates and organisations.

The ACT Government uses the internationally accepted standard AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 as the basis for best risk management practice
within the Territory.
The documentation, guides and toolkit developed by ACTIA (and available for use

The templates provided on this website are designed to adhere to this process. This means that the templates, in particular the risk management spreadsheet, are in a constant state of monitoring and review. This is aimed at an intermediate level and applies the principles of the Australian Standard AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 in the context of project management. Practical examples of developing a risk management plan will be examined in detail. This smaller sized course requires prior knowledge of risk management (better if you have already attended the Intro to RM course). Please Note: The Course outline will be available closer to the first course date.

Managing Event RisksManaging Event Related Risk is an intermediate level workshop that applies the principles of the Australian Standard AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 and tailors this directly to Event Management. Introduction to the ACTIA Risk Management SpreadsheetThe ACTIA Risk management Team will lead you through an in depth look at the ACTIA risk management spreadsheet. The spreadsheet has been designed to include all the elements of a risk management plan in accordance with the AS/NZS ISO 31000: 2009 as well as the ACT Whole of Government Risk Management Framework.
