ACT Accounting Policy Papers

The accounting policy papers replaced the former Accounting Policy Manual (APM) from 1 July 2005. The focus of the guidance papers is different from the APM in that an intermediate level of accrual accounting knowledge will be presumed.

The purpose of the policy papers is to provide accounting guidance in the Territory. These policy papers have been prepared in accordance with applicable Australian accounting standards and the Territory’s financial management framework. These papers cover specific issues that have been identified as requiring policy. The papers are not intended to encompass all aspects of financial reporting and do not replicate/replace accounting standard requirements.

These accounting policy papers are applicable to directorates and Territory authorities.
